Q. What is Day of Giving?
Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraiser where Marauders - alumni, students, families, and friends - unite and give back to our school. Day of Giving has been an initiative of St. Joe's for the last seven years, and has had a direct, positive impact on student tuition and scholarships, operational costs, specific academic, service, and athletic programs, and more.
Q. When is Day of Giving?
Day of Giving will be hosted on May 4th, 2023 from midnight to 11:59 PM. This is not an in-person event. You can participate by making a gift on May 4th, 2023, online through our website, social media, or by calling our Advancement Office at 716-270-4129.
Q. Who can donate to St. Joe's Day of Giving?
Anyone who wants to support St. Joe's can donate! Whether you are a current or past parent, alumnus, or friend of a friend, your donation makes a difference now, and will continue to make a difference for generations of Marauders to come.
Q. How does my Day of Giving gift support St. Joe's?
Gifts made to St. Joe's on Day of Giving, unless otherwise specified, will directly support The St. Joe's Fund, our school's annual fund. Every dollar given to the St. Joe's Fund is used in one of four ways: towards scholarship and financial aid for over 80% of students, towards our Lasallian Student Emergency Fund, towards specific program funding (arts, athletics, experiential learning, endowments), or to address the greatest current needs of our school community.
Q. How can I make a donation to Day of Giving?
On May 4th, 2023, you can donate online or over the phone. To make an online, secure donation with your mobile device or computer, visit dayofgiving.sjci.com. To make a credit card donation over the phone, call our Advancement Office at 716-270-4129.
Online and phone donations are preferred so that we will be able to quickly count your gift in a timely manner, however you may mail a check to St. Joe's Advancement Office at 845 Kenmore Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14223, in support of Day of Giving. If mailing in a donation, please reference Day of Giving with your donation.
Q. What are the fees associated with donating to St. Joe's Day of Giving?
GiveGab retains a 3.0% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. Any donations processed outside of Day of Giving donation period, through GiveGab.com, or subsequent recurring donations are subject to transaction fees outline on the GiveGab.com pricing page: http://info.givegab.com/pricing.
Q. Can I give to Day of Giving before May 4th, 2023?
Yes you can! You may make a donation to Day of Giving before May 4th, 2023. If you are giving before May 4th, 2023, please reference Day of Giving with your donation.
Q. Is my Day of Giving gift tax-deductible?
Donations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. You will receive a tax receipt and thank you letter upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.
